Live Flamenco in Madrid from August 26 to 30

Madrid says goodbye to August to the rhythm of flamenco. From August 26 to 30, Tablao Flamenco Café Ziryab presents five nights of live flamenco in Madrid, featuring a line-up that brings together experience, personality and the emotion that can only be felt in a live performance.

This week, Sarini Nieto and Maximiliano Rebman take the stage as dancers, Kei Ooka will perform the vocals, and Nicola Malatesta will be on guitar, with Katy Golenko joining on August 30.

A special opportunity for flamenco enthusiasts and visitors looking for an authentic flamenco tablao in Madrid, away from large-scale productions and up close to the artists.

Sarini Nieto: A Flamenco Dancer Exploring Flamenco Beyond the Tablao

Known artistically as Sarini, Sara Nieto completed her studies at the Conservatory of Spanish Dance in Madrid and continued her training at some of the city’s most important flamenco institutions, including Amor de Dios and Fundación Casa Patas.

Her career also stands out for exploring disciplines such as theatre and contemporary dance, bringing flamenco into different stage productions and expanding its expressive possibilities.

At Café Ziryab, this experience is reflected in a highly distinctive style of dancing, where listening, improvisation and the connection with the other artists play a fundamental role.

Maximiliano Rebman: Experience, Rhythm and an International Career

Alongside Sarini, Maximiliano Rebman will take the stage, a flamenco dancer and teacher of Spanish Dance and Flamenco with an extensive professional career.

He has been part of companies led by artists such as Aída Gómez, La Tati, José Huertas and Inmaculada Ortega, as well as performing in numerous Madrid tablaos and taking part in both national and international projects.

His dancing combines musicality, strength and a deep understanding of the stage. In the intimate setting of a tablao, every finish, pause and response to the singing can be appreciated from just a few metres away.

Sarini Nieto and Maximiliano Rebman return to the stage together to close August with five nights in which flamenco dance will be one of the main highlights.

Kei Ooka: Flamenco Knows No Borders

On vocals, Kei Ooka will take the stage, a familiar presence for regular audiences at Café Ziryab and an artist who has been part of our programme for several years.

Her presence also reflects something fundamental in the contemporary history of flamenco: its ability to cross borders and attract artists and enthusiasts from many different cultures.

Throughout the week, her voice will interact with the dancing of Sarini Nieto and Maximiliano Rebman, shaping each performance in the moment and ensuring that no two nights are ever exactly the same.

Nicola Malatesta and Katy Golenko: Two Guitarists to Close August

The guitar will also play a leading role throughout the week.

Nicola Malatesta has experience performing with international flamenco ensembles and will provide the musical foundation for the line-up during the programme.

On August 30, we will welcome Katy Golenko, a guitarist who has taken part in a range of flamenco projects and cultural performances in Madrid.

In a tablao, the guitar does much more than simply accompany. It listens to the singer, responds to the dancers and, together with the rest of the ensemble, helps shape the direction of each moment.

That is where much of the magic of live flamenco lies.
